A glass-ic solution to a glass-ic problem!

Glass is an extremely valuable resource, which is also infinitely recyclable. Your bottle that your 45-year-old alcohol came in could be recycled and end up as the jar your pickles come in, and so on! It is silly to throw out a product with so much potential or spend your valuable time hauling it to a recycling center and unloading it yourself. Therefore, you should have Royal Recycling do all of that hard work for you, for  as low $15 a month!

Due to the fact we use a bicycle with a trailer instead of a car, we only cover certain areas of Arlington, Fairfax, and Alexandria that have good bike infrastructure and are not too far from the recycling center. This makes our sign-up process weird, and we are sorry for the potential inconvenience.

Glass bottles, jars, and other glass containers of all colors big enough to fit in the hole of the bucket may be recycled provided the lids, caps, and corks, are removed.

All containers that have had food or drinks in them must be rinsed! 

Household glass such as drinkware, cookware, lightbulbs, and cannot be recycled and must be disposed of according to your locality's guidelines:

Although unconventional, Royal Recycling chooses to use 5-gallon buckets (Similar to ones commonly available at hardware/home improvement stores) because they have a lower footprint for better and more compact placement inside of your home, are easier to work with for our staff, are easier to clean, and have a convenient, and easy carry handle on the top to allow for more convenient service.

The 6"/15cm opening in the top of the bucket lid will allow us to filter what will/won't fit into the holes on the special collection containers in Arlington where we will bring your glass.

If you plan on leaving town, please leave your bucket out as usual so it may be serviced as normal and ready to be filled back up when you get back! 

Unlike our competitors, we do not primarily use a car for our service. Besides helping the environment, not using a car will help reduce the toxic-car dependency that plagues too much of our area, reduce emissions, and conserve fossil fuels. 

Yes, even when it's wet, cold, or freakishly hot outside, your glass will be picked up by Oliver with a bike!

Only in EXTREME conditions or rare circumstances (Which we reserve the right to determine) will we consider using other ways of transporting your glass. (E.g. bike paths/lanes are not cleared of snow/ice or are unsafe to use/closed, major mechanical issues with bike or trailer, or other sudden/rare problems)
